How to develop NDelta

Eighty groups operating in the country have made a case for a concerted effort by the government, multinationals and non-governmental organisations to fast track the development of the Niger Delta, using partnership approach as the springboard.

The groups, which were sponsored by the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria to a two-day workshop in Port Harcourt , made their views public in a position paper released on Sunday.

The participants agreed that no tier of government could effectively bring about the transformation of the Niger Delta and suggested the creation of a conducive atmosphere for partnerships to strive and deliver results.
