I have received reports that the vendors stalls, shacks and
makeshift premises are being burned today. There are also
reports of violence as resistance is met by the military
enforcing the eviction planned to be completed by tomorrow.
The eviction notice has attracted criticism from the evictees
and could result in skirmishes or public disorder spilling onto
to roads adjacent to the camp – please avoid any travel over
the next few days (or until the situation clears) in Rumuola
Road and Ikwerre Road where the camp has gates.
