Avengers Switch to Facebook, Claim New Attacks On NNPC, Chevron Facilities

Unrelenting Militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers on Tuesday announced via Facebook that it had blown up a Chevron well and oil pipelines near Warri in the Delta state.

The group’s Twitter account which it used to publicize its attacks was on Monday suspended for violating Twitter rules.

The group said it blew up a Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) manifold close to Banta and two crude pipelines operated by NNPC adding that it also blew up, “At 10pm Chevron Well 10 close to Otunana flowstation.”

Chevron and NNPC could not be immediately reached to comment.

A remote manifold platform (RMP) is where small oil or gas pipelines converge before connecting to a larger storage hub.

The post carried on the group’s ‘NDavengers’ facebook page, said the attacks happened shortly before midnight.
