Nigeria’s golden boy Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly called Wizkid was the biggest winner at the MTV African Music Awards (MAMAs) as he went home with three plaques to cap off what has been an amazing year for Nigeria’s music industry.
Wizkid walked away with awards in the ‘Best Male,’ ‘Best Collaboration’ (with SA’s DJ Maphorisa & DJ Buckz) and prestigious ‘Artist of the Year’ categories.
The 26-year old has had a great year with International collaborations with the likes of Trey Songz, Chris Brown as well as the Billboard-topping “One Dance” with American rapper, Drake.
Nigerian artist Yemi Alade (Best Female Act), Sauti Sol (Best Group) and Patoranking (Song of the Year) were some of the night’s other big winners.
