UK-based officers to strengthen policing in Nigeria

Some Nigerians serving in the British Metropolitan Police have expressed readiness to partner with the Nigeria Police Force to deepen policing in their homeland.

The group, which is currently in the country to fashion-out ways to support their country, stated this during a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Police Headquarters in Abuja.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, hosted them.

Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, said the visit was a fall-out of an earlier trip to the Metropolitan Police in United Kingdom.

He said Arase promised to create an enabling environment for fusion of ideas with the group to advance the intelligence and technological base of the Nigeria Police.

Robert Hunter Police Adviser, British High Commission, Tom Outwaite, Police Adviser, British Commission Abuja and Matagrawa Nurata from the Ministry of Police Affairs in Abuja attended the event.
