Two Lebanese nationals who were kidnapped in Nigeria earlier this month have been freed, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported Tuesday.
The two men, identified by the NNA as Toni Estfan and Shadi Lahhoud, were kidnapped on June 7 from a site in Nigeria’s Andoni area as they were working on a road-building project, Rivers State police spokesperson Nnamdi Omoni told Reuters earlier this month.
Many Lebanese expatriates, especially from the south, live and work in the West African countries of Senegal, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Nigeria and Ivory Coast, and murders and kidnappings are frequently reported.
