Nigeria’s government has requested the West to help it against the rampant militants who have proved a menance mostly in the Niger Delta. Nigeria needs the west to provide help in technnological terms so that the militants become history.
However, the west wants Nigeria to meet the following conditions. Nigeria should curb down corruption and reduce ethnicism especially in the Delta state.
Nigeria has been characterised by militant attacks especially on foreigners. The militants demand for more benefit for he local population from Nigeria’s vast oil wealth. Nigeria is the world’s eigth oil producer. However, the attacks have had adverse effects on the county’s oil production.
