Patience Jonathan faces fresh probe over N5b Abuja hotel

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has opened a fresh probe into five choice assets linked to ex-First Lady, Patience Jonathan, reports Nation.

Four of the properties are said to be located in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State and Port Harcourt, Rivers State while the fifth is located in Abuja.

Among the choice assets being investigated is a N5 billion hotel in Abuja.

The EFCC is currently studying documents on how the Abuja hotel was built.

The commission has also dispatched a team of investigators to Yenagoa and Port Harcourt for the purpose of establishing the ownership of four properties in the two cities.

The anti-graft agency is likely to confiscate the five properties once it is able to confirm that they belong to Patience Jonathan.

Recalled that the commission has frozen $15 million belonging to the former First Lady.

The money according to News 24 were laundered by companies linked to an aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Waripamo Owei-Didafa,

The four companies are Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited; Seagate Property Development & Investment Co. Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Development Company Limited and Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited.
