Militants Attack Again

The militants in Nigeria have intensified their attacks on oil companies. The police chief in Nigeria has confirmed that another oil installation has been attacked.

Media reports say that Agip, a unit of Italy’s ENI, was attacked buy the attackers were repelled by security forces and output was unaffected.

“There was an attack on an Agip installation this morning by some youths,” Bayelsa State Police Commissioner Hafiz Ringin told reporters.

The militants, who are also holding four foreign oil workers hostage, have been promising to launch more attacks since a raid on a Shell platform on January 15 in which about 14 soldiers were killed.
