Malaria claims 48 lives in Nigeria’s Sokoto State

The deaths were recorded out of the 382 patients who were hospitalized in a hospital in Gandu area of the state, Rabi Ahmed-Gandi, the Officer in Charge of Kofar Kade Clinic, told reporters.

The problem had reached an epidemic level, she added, noting that it had subsided now.

The medical director attributed the problem to the contamination of the environment sequel to the prevalence of toxic refuse heaps.
