Five South Korean gas workers kidnapped by militants on Wednesday will be released soon after a plea from a jailed militant leader in whose name the men were abducted, a militant group involved said on Thursday.
Militants from three different groups were involved in the abduction of the five workers in a bloody raid on a natural gas plant in the Niger Delta, and had demanded the release of jailed leader Mujahid Dokubo-Asari as a condition for their release.
