Community serves militants quit notice

ELDERS and leaders of Obetim community in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, have served a quit notice to youths involved in militant activities in the area, saying that anybody caught henceforth would be handed over to security agents. The community, which gave the warning in a communiqu�, signed by Mr. Joseph Obi, at the end of its general assembly held at the palace of Okpala-Uku, Okwa-Uku, Albert Onwuneme at the weekend, also dissolved the community�s national executive committee and constituted a caretaker committee, headed by Mr. Joseph Obi.

Other members of the committee are Mr. Nze Azomo (Vice Chairman), Mr. Cletus Okedukor (secretary), Messrs Lucky Onwuneme, Clement Opene.
The membership is drawn from each quarter and the Community Development Association and is charged with the responsibility of overseeing all the administrative organs in collaboration with the Okpala-Uku-in-Council.

In particular, the community declared its total support and solidarity to the administration of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

The Obetim people particularly hailed Gov. Uduaghan for his policy of inclusion in the implementation of policies and programmes of the state by making dividends of democracy available to all citizens.

They expressed satisfaction �with the positive steps taken thus far by the Delta State Government in the clarification of its legitimate position in Ndokwa West Local Government.
