Census Update

We promise this is absolutely, positively the last Census Update before the kick off of the big event. If you’re still confused then welcome to the club

Concerning national census, be on notice that the present situation is as follows:

Lagos State Government has restricted movement between the hours of 08:00 16:00 from Tuesday the 21st to Thursday the 23rd of March 2006. What this translates to is that Lagos employees will stay at home and be counted from Tuesday to Saturday. Those who can make it to the office before 08:00 can do so but have to stay in the office until 16:00(Bring chop). Those in the offices will be counted when the enumerators get there.

No restriction on movement has been announced by the Rivers and Delta State governments. Employees in these two states must come to work from Tuesday the 21st to Thursday 23rd of March 2006. Personnel in Port Harcourt and Warri should therefore ensure that they are counted between Tuesday and Saturday, during or after working hours. Those at work sites/rigs will be counted at that location. There will be no need to travel to your state of origin.

The Federal Government has also announced Friday 24th and Saturday 25th March 2006 as public holidays.

Considering the restricted movement, especially in Lagos, it is advised that all journeys be postponed between Lagos, Warri and Port Harcourt for the week. International scheduled flights will still be operating as they arrive Nigeria at night and leave very early in the morning.
