Boko Haram Slits Throats of 11 Defecting Members

Eleven defecting members of the Boko Haram sect were slaughtered by the group in order to instill discipline among the members of the terror group, a member of the youth vigilante group, Abba Modu told our correspondent on phone in Maiduguri.

Modu said the militants stormed Miringa town in southern part of Borno state about 04:30am on Friday, slitting the throats of the 11 persons believed to be the members of terrorist group who defected a few days ago.

He said: “They came around 4am today (Friday) and slit the throats of 11 of their runaway members.”

Modu said the villagers were previously living in fear as “they had known that the eleven persons were up to no good.

“Everyone knew in the village that the men who recently came back to settle among them were Boko Haram because they had left long ago and by their appearance and sudden return, the villagers had known they were not safe.”

A resident of the town, Ibrahim Mohammed who called our correspondent on phone said about 50 terrorists sneaked into the village and went after the defecting members.
