Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), yesterday described as false the allegation by the embattled former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori , that he had lobbied him for the post of the Inspector General of Police and insisted that the $15 million allegedly given to him by the former governor is still lying as exhibit at the Central Bank of Nigeria.
He said he was not surprised at the antics of the former governor, stating that Ibori, just like other corrupt officials the EFCCC tried to prosecute during his regime, would do anything to escape the long hands of the law.
