Theresa Ibori Ordered To Refund Stolen Money And Sell London Townhouses

Former Delta state first lady Theresa Ibori appeared before the Southwark Crown Court today in London and confessed to spending millions of pounds sterling stolen from Delta state on choice properties in the Westover area of London.

She testified that the properties were purchased in her name with the stolen funds.

The fallen first lady was ordered to refund £5.175 million in one year. If the money is not returned, she must serve an extra 10 years in prison.

Madame Ibori accepted the court’s decision to sell her 7 Westover Hill mansion and another one known as Great Ground Property. She was then returned to prison where she is currently serving 5 years for money laundering.

Mr. Ibori, meanwhile, is awaiting trial in the UK after being successfully extradited from the United Arab Emirates. He also faces money laundering charges.
