The Nigerian military said on Friday oil thieves had sabotaged an oil pipeline at Buguma in the Niger Delta and Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L) said it was investigating.
“There was an attack on a pipeline early this morning around Buguma which has left crude floating on the water. This is purely an act of sabotage by bunkerers who are bent on stealing crude,” military spokesman Lt-Colonel Timothy Antigha said.
Shell spokesman Precious Okolobo said the company was checking reports of an attack but had no further details.
