Road in Abuja, Airport in Katsina named after late Yar’Adua

The Nigerian government Wednesday named the Abuja Airport road and the Katsina Airport after the late President Umaru Yar’Adua.

The honour came after the decision-making federal cabinet approved a memorandum submitted to it by President Goodluck Jonathan during a special Valedictory Session in honour of Yar’Adua.

The session wrapped up the seven days of mourning declared by President Jonathan in memory of the late President, who died 5 May after a protracted illness.

President Jonathan, ministers and the former Ghanaian President, John Kufuor, used the occasion to eulogize the late President and prayed to God to grant his soul an eternal rest.

The Abuja Airport Dual-Carriage road is located in the nation’s capital, while the Katsina Airport is in Katsina, the home town of the late President.
