The Rivers state government says it is taking the war against abduction and other forms of criminality in the state back to the door steps of the perpetrators, even as it says it will never negotiate with �terrorists�.
The state�s Commissioner for Information, Mr Ogbonna Nwuke, who stated this in an exclusive interview with Saturday Tribune in Port Harcourt on Thursday, said the state government was spending on the equipment of security agencies in the state to assist them with logistics for fighting the war.
The commissioner also emphasised the place of the mass media in fighting the menace of abduction and illegal use of arms in the Niger Delta, noting that it was the basis for his visit to the offices of print and broadcast media recently.
The commissioner who said he would not lift the lid on plans and arrangements set aside to fight criminality in the state for security reasons; he stated further that the Amaechi-led administration knew the dangers in treating current criminal trends with kid gloves.
He then said government would confront the challenge from all fronts, including legal and force, to push it out of their community , urging all stakeholders in the state to join in the fight.
