The abductors of Mrs. Margaret Idisi, wife of the oil magnate and chairman of Lonstar Drilling, Chief Humphrey Idisi, are now demanding a ransom of N1 billion for her release.
Nigerian Tribune learnt from a family source yesterday that the hoodlums established contacts with the family on Monday after and made the demand.
Heavily armed hoodlums had stormed the home of the oil magnate in the early hours of Sunday and abducted the 56-year old mother of the house, after searching for her daughter without success.
Chief Idisi had narrated to security operatives after the attack that the hoodlums claimed to have come after him as they had been mobilised to assassinate him. But in stead of killing him, as they claimed, they went after members of his home to be kidnapped.
Efforts to get detailed information on plans of getting the victim released yielded little success as sources were not forthcoming in their responses.
But the spokesman of the Joint Task Force (JTF), Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, said that the State Security Service (SSS) component of the JTF had made considerable progress in the plans to get her released.
