Kidnappers demand N50m to free Odili�s ex-aide

The kidnapers of Mr. Eni Odili, an aide to the former governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili, on Monday demanded a N50m ransom to set him free.

Eni, who is a also a nephew to Odili, was abducted on Sunday while returning from the church in company with his wife and children.

The incident took place on Ada George Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

A source told our correspondent that the kidnappers had made contacts with the Odili�s family and asked them to bring the ransom to an undisclosed location in the state.

The Commissioner, Rivers State Police Command, Mr. Felix Ogbaudu, confirmed that the command had made contacts with the victim on the telephone.

He said that the command was making efforts to secure the release of Eni.

According to him, security agencies are committed to fighting all forms of criminality in the state.

As part of measures to stop the menace of hostage-taking, Ogbaudu said that the command no longer allowed the payment of ransom to bandits.
