Nigeria’s National Judicial Council (NJC) has announced the sack of a judge with the northern Bauchi state judiciary, Justice Habibu Idris-Shall, for fighting on the street.
The council said in a statement in Abuja Wednesday that the Governor of the state, Isa Yuguda, approved Idris-Shall’s retirement on its (council’s) recommendation.
According to the council, which is responsible for the appointment and discipline of judges in the country, Justice Idris-Shall was seen fighting one Kassim Danladmi-Shall of the Bauchi State Ministry of Works and Tra nsport some months ago.
It said the judge was subsequently suspended from office in February over the incident, which contravenes the Code of Conduct for judicial officers.
