Two gunmen shot a woman dead during Mass on Sunday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Apapa, in Nigeria’s economic capital city of Lagos, the local press reported Monday.
The report said the two gunmen, who arrived in the church on a motorcycle, walked into the church during Mass and opened fire on the unidentified woman before escaping on their motorcycle.
The woman later died at a nearby hospital, where she was taken for treatment after the incident.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Marvelous Akpoyibo, later visited the church, as part of police investigation into the murder.
