Delta Airline reports 336,000 passengers from Nigeria to US in 3 years

Delta Airline on Thursday said it had transported more than 336,000 passengers from Nigeria to the U. S. since it began operations in Nigeria in December 2007.

The airlines’ Commercial Manager for East and West Africa Bobby Bryan made this known in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub during an interactive session with reporters.

Bryan said since December 2006 when it began flying into Africa, it carried more than 2 million passengers from Africa to the U.S.

The airline would commence direct flight from Luanda in Angola to the U.S. from January 2011, he told reporters.

He described this year as a profitable year for the airline which recorded a profit of 929 million U.S. dollars in the third quarter of the year.

Bryan re-instated the airlines’ commitment to the Nigerian market, giving assurance of continuous best offerings to its Nigerian customers despite the rising competition from other international carriers.

He said Delta was exploring the possibility of partnering with local Nigerian airlines for better services to Nigerians.
