Businessman’s abductors reduce ransom from N150m to N2.5m

THE kidnappers of a 62-year-old businessman in Warri, Delta State, Chief Moses Irimisose, have reduced the ransom from N150 million to N2.5 million.

A security source told the Nigerian Tribune that the kidnappers had been discussing with the man’s son, Mr. Oghenegweke Irimisose and demanded that N2.5 million be paid within 24 hours.

“We learnt that they have been discussing with the relations of the kidnapped man, particularly the son, demanding that N2.5 million be paid to them, as against N150 million initially requested,” the source said.

The 62-year-old man, who is the vice chairman of Host Community of Nigeria (HOSCON), was abducted last Thursday from his office located along PTI Road at about 2.00 p.m. by five men armed with AK 47 rifles.

They thereafter called his wife, demanding for recharge cards, which was given to them.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka, confirmed the incident, but assured that the police were working with other security agencies to rescue the man and arrest the kidnappers.
