A Â blast rocked a government lodge located near a state headquarters in southern Nigeria’s restive oil producing Niger Delta region on Wednesday, an official said.
No casualties were reported in the explosion which occurred around 1400 GMT in Asaba, the capital of Delta state.
“There was an explosion at the Asaba guest house…, a commercial outfit of the Delta State government located near the government house,” Sunny Ogefere, spokesman for the local governor said in a statement.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack in the volatile region where many people laid down arms under a government amnesty deal last year.
In March two car bombs went off outside another government house in the commercial capital of Warri, in the same state, killing at least two people.
