The new trend in militant activities in the state is said to be giving the state government a cause to worry as the event was said to be the focus of the states Executive Councils meeting held yesterday.

Following the kidnap of the young man, the Deputy Governor, Hon. Perebowei Ebebi and the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Werinepre Seibarogu visited the family residence of the Benjamins yesterday.

Unable to gain entrance through the main or the back doors, the kidnapper entered the house through the roof, snatched the boy from his room where he laid with his older brother, opens the door and fled.

Speaking with newsmen on the incident, the Father of the Boy, Pastor Kenneth Benjamin said though his wife, who represent the Brass Constituency 111 at the House of Assembly, had some time ago received an anonymous letter requesting for the sum of N1million before her swear-in as member of the House, they never took the demand seriously until the kidnap yesterday.

Benjamin lamented the abduction of his son, saying that the family does not have such amount of money demanded by the kidnappers.

Whether they are militant or kidnappers I dont know. He cried

He revealed that his Child abductors had been in constant touch with him on his mobile phone with a demand for N20million.

He also revealed that as a way of showing him the proof of his child life; he was allowed to speak with his Son, my Son urged me to pay the ransom demanded for by the abductors but they are still calling me.
