Attempted Expat Abduction – Port Harcourt – Sunday 12th December

I am keeping this report vague at the moment to respect the wishes of those involved – however – I do feel it significant enough that you should all be made aware of this incident…

Two expatriates were travelling in a vehicle Sunday lunchtime in the Trans Amadi area of Port Harcourt. They were stopped by an armed gang as they tried to approach their base.

Shots were fired and one expat suffered a flesh wound to his leg. The other expat is a little shaken up after he evaded capture through the window of a moving vehicle.

It is not clear at this time if this was a robbery or a kidnap attempt.

Our gunshot victim is recovering well in hospital.

This is a stark reminder that things have never really gotten any better out there. And with Silly Season now fully upon us – it will definitely not improve over coming weeks.

PLEASE be extra vigilant and PLEASE rethink your routes, plans and schedules.

The victims of this attack well known to all regular readers of OOL and personal friends of mine. If it can happen to them – it can happen to any of us.

Remember – this was in town in broad daylight. Facts which should not be played down

I wish both victims well. I am sure you all do too.
