Another foreign oil contractor was kidnapped in southern Nigeria on Wednesday, the sixth abduction of foreign workers in Africa’s top oil exporter in two weeks, industry sources said.
The hostage, an employee of Homan Construction, was abducted this morning around 08.30 at the junction of East-West Road known as �Banana Junction�.
The expat was NOT escorted. He is believed to be Lebanese.
The kidnapping of the man from his car on a road close to the border between Rivers and Bayelsa states in the Niger Delta brings to about 17 the number of foreign oil workers taken this month. Nine have so far been released.
