This weekend an expat couple were socialising at a popular bar in Port Harcourt.
They left the bar at 20:50 and drove down Odulu St towards Skippers.
Their car was followed by a grey Jetta car which overtook them & pulled in front of their car.
Three well dressed Nigerian men carrying shotguns got out and ran towards the expats car. The expats’ car driver reversed the car back down towards the junction hitting a parked car as he raced back. He then turned & drove towards Presidential.
The attackers reversed their own car & followed them but gave up as the road became more populated by Salvation Church & Presidential roundabout on Birabi St.
This is a salutary reminder, if one was needed, that we cannot drop our guard.
