Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Aliyu Modibbo Umar, has declared last Saturday of every month as environmental sanitation day in all the six Area
Councils of the city.
The minister made the decision known at the FCT Executive Council meeting where he explained that the measure is expected to uplift the living and environmental standards of the area councils to the level enjoyed by the city centre.
�The last Saturday of each month should be maintained as sanitation day in all the six Area Councils of the Territory. We want to be remembered as people who have come and impacted positively on the lives of the residents of the Federal Capital Territory�, he stated.
