Gunmen Blow Up Chevron’s Oil Flow Station

Unidentified gunmen, in the early hours of Saturday were said to have blown up Dibi Flow Station in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Flow Station, operated by Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) had of recent experienced series of attacks during the Niger Delta crisis.

Although the reason for the attack could not be ascertained, Saturday Tribune gathered that the gun-men blew up the oil facility at about 2:40 a.m. last Thursday.

It was learnt that the incident took place opposite Dagbolo community and that the explosion from the Flow Station took the populace of the area unawares.

According to a security agent, “The people of Dagbolo community woke up early Thursday to the loud bang from the explosion that rocked the Dibi Flow Station, while some youths who were armed were later sighted running away from the scene.”

Saturday Tribune also gathered that security agents have been deployed to the scene to fish out the perpetrators.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Charles Muka, could not be reached on phone for confirmation.
