ROYAL Dutch Shell, operator of Nigeria’s largest oilfields, plans to more than double its natural-gas production in Nigeria as it starts a new facility and cuts flaring, or the burning of fuel at fields.

Armed men yesterday robbed two banks and burnt a police station at Saminaka, in the Lere local government area of Nigeria’s Kaduna state. They also bombed the doors of the bank to gain entry.
The armed men, P.M.News gathered attacked Saminaka police station where a policeman was killed .
Briefing newsmen this aftenoon after a tour round the burnt police station and banks , Kaduna Police Commissioner, Bala Magaji Nasarawa confirmed that a policeman was killed and two others severely injured as fire razed the building.
He also informed journalists that two banks were robbed within the area and a security man guarding one of the banks was killed by the suspected armed robbers.
P.M.News also gathered that the armed men used explosive devices to gain entrance into the banks and carted away undisclosed amount of money.
