Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has ordered tight security around all key and vulnerable points in the country.
Force spokesman, Emmanuel Ojukwu, said this became imperative in a bid to ward off any likely or possible attempt by hoodlums or men of under-world to attack these installations and public places.
Such vulnerable areas include Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps, media houses, service providers installations, Independent National Electoral Commission Headquarters and centres, banks, hospitals, lodges, hotels and Government offices among others.
Police further enjoined members of the public to remain steadfast in collaborating with officers to stamp out crimes.
Ojukwu said meanwhile, police had perfected strategies to prepare a safe and secure ground to guarantee hitch-free March 28 and April 11 general elections.
