We iterate our non-involvement in the comedy presently unfolding in delta State.
None of our fighters was involved in the capture of the cargo vessel, or detention of its filipino crew. This was an action carried out solely by the community in that vicinity, engineered by politicians and supposed ijaw elders in delta state.
The purpose of this action is to replace uduaghan as the pdp governorship candidate by blackmailing governor Ibori and the pdp.
Clearly this has nothing to do with the struggle for justice in the delta and well meaning indegenes of the delta must condenm this hijack of the struggle for personal gains by some irresponsible ijaws in delta state.
Delta state is not only for ijaws and every indegene of that state has an equal stake in its affairs. In a democracy, as far as no flaws have been detected in the nomination process, it is irrelevant if uduaghan is the son of Ibori. He has a right to the office of governor and cannot be denied by anyone but the people of the state who have the mandate to elect a leader.
So called ijaw elders in delta state should desist from seeking personal gratification from the sweat and blood of indegenes of the niger delta. The fight for justice in the delta has nothing to do with who rules delta state.
We are fighting for resource control for the millions of poverty stricken villagers unseen by the world. Those are the people, the struggle in the delta is about. Not dubious politicians with stolen wealth to spread
>round a few thugs. This is political thugery which chief clarke and his likes must immediately distance themselves from.
It has also come to our notice, that some elements are demanding shell pay the sum of 1.5 billion dollars awarded communities in bayelsa to chief pere ajuwa. If shell goes ahead and does this, it will be an error they will never recover from.
The people of the delta are sick of chameleons and leeches. This payment should be submited to the care and management of the united nations development program (undp). That is the only acceptable custodian of this
award, when eventually paid.
