THE gubernatorial candidate of the Citizen Popular Party, CPP, in Delta State , Mr. Ogbe Onokpite has stated that his party is set to eradicate poverty in the state just as he commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for its efforts at tackling corruption in the country.
He further assured that the CPP would sweep the April polls in the state even as he revealed that youths in the state needs to be re-orientated, noting that �Deltans should vote for him because he holds the key to liberate them from the shackles of poverty and want�.
The governorship hopeful made these remarks, Weekend , in Warri at a press briefing.
According to him, the police authority that had earlier declared him wanted had apologized to him and returned his cars and other personal effects allegedly taken away from him in the heat of the fracas in Uvwie local government council that led to his being declared wanted, saying that �there are still some good and fine police officers in the country who are reasonable and fair in the discharge of their duties�.
While scoring the Ibori-led PDP government very low, he said the party lacked good leadership but has plenty of money to waste, stressing that the CPP would pursue policies and programmes designed to bring tangible development to the state even as it would also run a welfare scheme that will benefit Deltans without discrimination.
He therefore urged Deltans to ensure that they vote the PDP out of power in the April polls and vote him and the CPP at all levels of governance for them to enjoy the dividends of democracy as the PDP has succeeded only in ruining the state.
