Information revealed that Mr Wilson Halera, a Fillipino that was kidnapped along Owerri Airport on 6 Feb 07 has been rescued by soldiers at Buguma on 7 Mar 07 at about 8:30pm.
He was said to have been moved immediately to Tombia by the soldiers and flown out with an Airforce Helicopter to Port Harcourt.
He is presently with the SSS. It could be recalled that the Fillipino was attacked along Owerri Airport road by unknown armed men where his Mopol escort was shot dead.
Meanwhile, 2 Mopols were reported killed and a bullion van they were escorting snatched by armed gangs today (8 Mar 07).
The incident took place between Owerri town and Owerri Airport.
