THE Federal Government has set up a committee to unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of the Beechcraft 1900D aircraft belonging to Wings Aviation.
Worried by the conflicting reports emanating on the disappearance, the Federal Government was said to have ordered a probe into the whereabouts of the aircraft with a view to getting to the root of the matter.
Already, all aviation agencies heads have begun meeting at the presidential wing of the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, to discuss the endless search for the aircraft since March 15.
Top management staff of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, (NAMA) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) were seen at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with documents to argue their cases.

The aircraft that left Lagos on the pretext that it was going to pick a dignitary from the Obudu Airstrip, disappeared on March 15 and search for it had since begun with no result.
The situation was compounded by earlier announcement by relevant authorities in the aviation sector, the Ministry of Aviation inclusive, that the plane had crashlanded in Dabu village in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State with all crew members found dead.
The report, which was later found to be false, was said to have drew the ire of the Federal Government which later took interest and recently ordered a probe into the incident.
Director General of the NCAA, Dr. Harold Demuren, was said to have called a stakeholders meeting in his office on Tuesday to deliberate on the matter and how to prevent future occurrence.
The meeting, which comprised several aviation experts, both serving and retired, met for over five hours at the headquarters of the NCAA.
