Lagos suspends restriction of movement on Saturday

The Lagos State Government has cancelled the November edition of the monthly sanitation exercise.

The suspension, it said, was to facilitate easy movement for students writing the National Examinations Council.

A statement on Thursday by the Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Muiz Banire, indicated that the Deputy Governor of the state, Mrs. Sarah Sosan, had directed that the Environmental Sanitation for November be considered cancelled to allow students writing the examination and their supervisors get to their various examination centres unhindered.

Banire, however, implored Lagosians to observe the environmental sanitation by cleaning their houses and rid their environment of filth, while attention should also be paid to the clearing of the drains to allow free flow of storm water.
