Most residents of the commercial town of Onitsha are presently living in fear following alleged witchcraft attack on residents. The affected residents complained of nightmare and a geometric decline in their fortunes and attendant ugly experiences in their lives. They have also sought the services of spiritualists, while some have embraced spiritual churches whose pastors now regularly visit such affected homes for spiritual protection. When our Correspondent visited some of the Pentecostal churches in the town in a bid to ascertain the authenticity of the claim, the numbers of cases were more of witchcraft operation ravaging the lives of their victims.
A gospel preacher and founder, Peace and Everlasting Ministry, a spiritual church in the heart of the town, Prophetess Blessing Ajayi confirmed the story as she narrated that witches and wizard were more these days to cause confusion and hardship in the lives of people and urged Christians to seek divine protection in order to attain their potentials in life. She revealed that a lot of backwardness in the lives of Christians were mainly as a result of witchcraft operation. Prophetess Ajayi urged Christians to be steadfast in prayers and should not hesitate to pray at all times as witches apply unsuspecting and clever means in attacking their victims.
Onitsha township which is mainly inhabited by non-indigenes has been experiencing various degrees of witchcraft activities in the last one month. Every street where business activities are carried out now boast of one or two men of God counseling both traders and artisans on the best way to escape witchcraft activities which is now rampant in town..
