JTF raises alarm over militants’ planned attacks

The Joint Task Force (JTF), code-named Operation Restore Hope, on Thursday raised the alarm that a militant group led by a certain Kingsley Opuye was planning an attack on oil and gas installations in the Niger Delta.

According to a statement by the Coordinator of the Joint Media Campaign Centre, Colonel Rabe Abubakar, the group was also planning to attack military formations in the region.

He said the hoodlums were plotting to attack the facilities as a form of reprisal for being dislodged from their camp by the troops of the JTF.
He added that the group’s activities were aimed at seeking recognition.
