Unknown gunmen on Friday afternoon, 9 July 10, in Uvwie council area of Delta State abducted Mr. Rilwanu Momodu, the Senior Community Engagement Officer of Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL, to an unknown destination.
He was alleged to have been kidnapped on his way to the office around 2pm. His car was found abandoned at Sapele, suggesting that the kidnappers have taken him deep into the creeks by suspected militants / criminals.
Though Chevron management have declined to give details of the incident, they confirm the kidnap and security sources confirmed that Mr. Momodu was abducted and his whereabouts is still unknown although all efforts are being made to locate his position.
Mr. Momodu was also kidnapped by militants during the seven years Warri crisis that later metamorphosed into the Niger Delta crisis.
