French company Bourbon, a global provider of oil and gas marine services for the petroleum industry, confirmed on Nov. 10 that three Bourbon employees who were abducted in Nigeria in September while aboard the Bourbon Alexandre have been released by their kidnappers.
The company issued a statement saying, “Despite difficult conditions while in captivity, [all three hostages] appear to be in good health. They are currently being looked after by the members of the Crisis Unit of Bourbon in Nigeria where they are undergoing careful medical and psychological check-ups. The three employees will be returning to France within the next few days to be reunited with their families and friends.”
Bourbon would not say if a ransom had been paid and declined to identify the abducted employees out of a concern for privacy for the families of those involved
