A London-bound passenger has been arrested at Nigeria’s main airport in Lagos after having allegedly swallowed 65 pellets of cocaine weighing 950 grammes, the anti-drug agency said Wednesday.
“He was detected during the screening of passengers… and was found to have ingested 65 pellets of a substance that tested positive to cocaine weighing 950 grammes,” Nigeria’s anti-drug agency said in a statement, without providing details.
It said the 59-year-old would soon appear in court.
Nigeria is a major transshipment point for South American cocaine bound for Europe.
