Nigeria’s police in central north Nasarawa State on Monday said eight persons were killed by unknown gunmen in a village overnight.
State police spokesperson Cornelius Ocholi told reporters in Lafia, the state capital, that the gunmen attacked Tse Yaji Village near Kadarko Town in the Keana Local Government Area of the state.
A similar attack occurred on March 8 in Kadarko, where nine persons were killed in the village market by suspected herdsmen.
The latest attack left a retired army officer Ajohol Adoonkor and seven others dead, the police spokesperson added.
Ocholi said the police was on top of the situation, putting up measures to forestall further attacks.
