Two Russian and one Filipino seamen from the ship “Breeze Clipper”, captured by pirates on February 28th in Nigeria, were released Saturday.
This was reported by the inspector of the International Federation of Transport Workers, Piotr Osichansky.
According to him, the sailors are doing well. For the time being they are still in Africa, but will soon be sent home.
On February 28th pirates had carried out an armed raid on the refrigerator-vessel “Breeze Clipper”. They approached the ship on a small boat, opened fire upon it, and then searched the crew, seizing all their valuables. When leaving the refrigerator-vessel, the pirates took hostages.
