The second bomb blew nearly immediately”.

The two suicide ‎bombers blew themselves up in Mulai barely an hour after the VP arrived the city and was going about his assignment.

Suicide bombers detonated explosives in the northeast Nigerian village of Molai on Wednesday as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visited nearby Borno state capital, Maiduguri.

According to Abba, the two suicide bombers were unsuccessful in their dastardly enterprise as they only succeeded in blowing themselves up and leaving two persons injured. Some 16 people were injured in the weekend blasts.

The Vice President had commenced on the trip to Borno in compliance to the instruction of the President to know the true nature of things at the camps of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

Boko Haram, a terror group which has killed more than 13,000 people since 2009, the wake of its violent attacks in 2009 in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, has been targeting civilians as one of the major tactics in causing panic and inflicting pressure on government. Maiduguri still experiences frequent terrorist attacks and suicide bombings.
