THE Nigeria Police have issued a signal to the International Police (Interpol) for the immediate arrest of former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir el-Rufai and former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
The Force Headquarters, through a signal it sent on Wednesday, with reference number CR 2685/FHQ/ABJ/ICPO/ABJ/VOL. 1/80 DTO: 090540/11/2009, entitled Watch-Listing of Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai and Nuhu Ribadu,” charged the Interpol to arrest them “immediately.”
“We are watch-listing the above-named persons for acts contrary to sections 96, 120, 123 and 124 Cap 532, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990 and some provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000,” the signal read.
The message sent by the Commissioner of Police in charge of Interpol charged officers and men of Interpol to arrest el-Rufai and Ribadu if seen and communicate the Nigeria Police, adding that the action should be “immediate.”
