A 35-year-old woman in Nigeria’s central Benue state faces a possible dealt penalty after she was charged with culpable homicide for allegedly killing her albino child, the private Guardian newspaper reported on Saturday. Mrs. Doosur Hembaor was arraigned before a Magistrate Court in the state capital, Makurdi, on Friday for her action. She reportedly beheaded the child on the suspicion that he was a wizard who had been tormenting her since he was born.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Cecelia Bakare, could not take the plea of the accused and she ordered her remanded in prison custody till 19 April.
