The International Institute For Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is located at Ibadan, Western Nigeria. It is about 100 minutes drive from Lagos.
Much of its 1000-hectare campus is used for scientific research on improving food production in Africa. A third of its campus consists of unspoiled tropical forest, a natural preserve for birds and other fauna. A lake about 3 kilometers long, developed to provide irrigation water, attracts hundreds of species of resident and migratory birds. The lake has been spawned with various fish species. Guides are available for visitors wishing to take a tour of the forest, try their luck at fishing in the lake, or watching for rare-migratory birds.
The main accommodation is located in the I-house (International House), with 108 well-appointed rooms and spacious dormitory facilities; well decorated with various works of traditional artifact. It is an ideal place for a relaxing weekend with the family; children can bring along their bicycles.
IITA offers a perfect atmosphere for a pleasant experience.

Special weekend rates are applicable during festive seasons and peak periods. Rates include bed and breakfast only. Meals are available at the resort cafeteria and standard meal rates are as follows:
Lunch/Dinner - N600 per person
Buffet lunch/dinner - N1000 per person
Brunch/Coffee/Tea/Biscuit Break N300 per person (also applicable for events, meetings etc)

Recreational Activities
Some of the activities that can be arranged as part of a packed group weekend retreat include:
Pizza night around the outdoor bar, bird watching, forest walk, s undowners (picnic in the evening at the lake side), buffet dinner, city tour to popular attractions in Ibadan including the popular Oje market where traditional fabric weaving is a well established industry and the University of Ibadan zoological gardens. Well-developed sports facilities are also available including swimming pool, tennis courts, golf course, squash, badminton, volleyball and basketball.
Equipment can be hired for golf, tennis, fishing as well as boats and binoculars from the reception. The resort has a lake suitable for boating and fishing. The recreational facilities are primarily available to International Club (I-Club) members only and their guests. Resort guests are automatically allowed temporary membership for the duration of their stay.
Conference and Meeting Facilities
The conference hall adjacent to the I-House is an ideal venue for workshops, retreats and team building exercises. The conference hall seats up to 250 people whilst the meeting and syndicate rooms attached can seat up to 40 persons at a time. Available facilities include f lip charts, overhead projector and screen, 35mm slide projector, multimedia projector, VHS Video Player with 20 ² Monitor, amplifier and microphones.

This is a casual surrounding serving international and local choice of food, vegetarian, non-vegetarian, snacks and drinks.

A place to relax after a game of squash or golf, or for watching your favourite sports on a wide-screen TV in the evenings or play a game of pool or dart.
Opening Times 11am - 7pm daily except on Wednesdays when it is open from 1pm - 9pm.

Guidelines for Guests in the I-House
For security and safety of guests, access control and security rules exist at the IITA and whilst the Management welcomes all visitors and guests to the facility, it also requests their compliance with the following security guidelines for the safety and security of all on the lITA campus. Guidelines for guests will be provided on arrival.
